The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at Duke University is looking for an Interviewer to join our admissions team for the Master of Science (MS) and Master of Engineering (MEng) programs. In this role, you will play a key part in shaping the next generation of ECE professionals by evaluating prospective students during the admissions process. This is a seasonal, remote position with flexible hours from mid‑January to mid‑March. You’ll work offsite and collaborate with the Master’s Program Coordinator. Essential Responsibilities Conduct interviews with prospective students using established standards and guidelines. Assess candidates’ communication skills using ECE’s guidelines and rubric. Submit timely, detailed evaluations for review by the Admissions Committee. Complete additional admissions‑related tasks as needed. Minimum Requirements Analytical, communications and organizational skills generally acquired through completion of a bachelor’s degree program. Strong time management and interpersonal skills. Ability to work comfortably online using software tools. Preferred Qualifications ESL degree or certificate. Advanced degree. Prior experience teaching English as a Second Language (ESL). Experience scoring standardized ESL tests (e.g., TOEFL, IELTS, Duolingo). Experience in academic or admissions settings at the university level.
