Job Summary :

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Dispatcher/Gate Guard to manage the secure and efficient flow of inbound and outbound traffic at our warehouse facility. This position requires proficiency with DODA and PITA systems to accurately process and verify shipments. The ideal candidate will have strong communication and organizational skills and be comfortable working in a fast-paced logistics environment.

Key Responsibilities :

• Monitor and control vehicle access at the warehouse gate, verifying driver information and shipment documentation
• Dispatch trucks in and out of the facility using DODA and PITA systems
• Verify and input trailer/container numbers, seal numbers, and BOL details
• Communicate with warehouse staff and yard personnel to coordinate trailer movement and dock assignments
• Maintain accurate logs of arrivals, departures, and yard inventory
• Ensure compliance with security procedures and report any suspicious activity
• Provide clear instructions to drivers regarding facility rules, safety protocols, and yard navigation
• Coordinate closely with customer service, operations, and security teams
• Perform routine checks on yard activity and assist with yard audits if needed

Required Knowledge and Skills :

• Experience using DODA (Dock & Door Assignment) and PITA (Point-In-Time Access) systems
• Previous experience as a dispatcher, gate guard, or in a warehouse/logistics environment preferred
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, internal WMS)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to multitask, stay organized, and work independently
• Knowledge of shipping/receiving documentation (BOLs, seal verification, etc.)
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus

Physical Requirements :

• Ability to work outdoors at the gate in various weather conditions
• Stand for extended periods
• Occasionally lift up to 25 lbs

Job Type : Full-time

Salary : $12.00 - $13.00 per hour

Expected hours : 40 per week

Schedule :

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed

Work Location : In person
