Job Description

Our client is a Philadelphia HQ, mid-sized law firm that delivers advice to businesses, funds, and high-net-worth individuals.

Founded in 2012, they have become one of the fastest-growing law firms in the region and, in 2024, were recognized as one of the fastest-growing law firms in PA by percentage and number of attorneys. Ascended to the 44th-largest law firm in PA. In 2025, they were awarded a Top Workplace for the seventh consecutive year.

The Corporate Attorney (EdTech) assists with a wide range of general corporate and education-related matters for its EdTech and education-focused clients.

Successful candidates will have a broad base of general corporate and commercial transactional experience with a preference for candidates with prior experience working with startup/venture-backed companies and investors, and/or drafting advanced commercial contracts such as tech transfer agreements, licenses, and other technology and intellectual property-focused contracts.

Prior experience in the education sector and familiarity with how education-focused institutions operate are a must.

This role will sit at the intersection of the firm’s EC/VC practice group and its commercial contracts team to provide full-service support for the firm’s national and fast-growing EdTech practice.

This position will also help advise and assist with a wide range of education-related matters, such as regulatory compliance with various laws impacting K-12 schools, postsecondary educational institutions, and other education or education-adjacent entities (e.g. preschools and daycare centers, trade schools, workforce development agencies).

[Center City Philadelphia or Conshohocken locations]

High-level Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctorate and 3+ years’ work experience as a practicing attorney with a focus on general corporate and/or complex commercial contracts required.
  • Experience working in EC/VC space preferred.
  • Licensed to practice law in one or more states (with a preference for PA, NY, and/or NJ).
  • Prior experience working in education (whether as a lawyer, entrepreneur, teacher, researcher, policymaker, advocate, etc.) and familiarity with how educational institutions operate are required.
  • Ability to consider the specific regulatory, cultural, and mission-driven aspects of various educational institutions.
