Job Description

A Typical Day:

Joining H&R Block* as an experienced Bookkeeper , youll deliver exceptional bookkeeping, payroll and customer service. Youll be an integral part of delivering on our brand purpose to provide help and inspire communities everywhere.

What youll bring to the role:

• Post financial transactions into subsidiary books and general ledgers

• Reconcile and balance accounts

• Generate and analyze financial statements

• Prepare and process payroll

• Generate 1099s and W2s and calculate and prepare tax statements

• Communicate with clients, client suppliers, vendors and banking contacts

• Assist in client retention and client growth opportunities

Your Expertise:

• High school diploma or equivalent

• National bookkeeping and payroll certifications from the National Bookkeeping Association, or the ability to successfully obtain certifications

• 1-3 years of bookkeeping experience

• Knowledge of bookkeeping practices and generally accepted accounting principles & procedures

• Ability to correctly interpret and apply complete instructions, policies and regulations

• Ability to treat confidential information with professionalism and discretion

• Analytical skills and an eye for details

• Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to multi-task and work independently

It would be even better if you also had...:

• Experience with Xero accounting software

Pay Range Information: The pay range for this position is listed below. Local minimum wage laws apply. This information is posted pursuant to local requirements to provide applicants with information about what they might be eligible to receive. Individual pay decisions will depend on job-related factors such as experience, education, skill, performance, and geographic location where work will be performed. Successful candidates may be able to participate in one or more incentive compensation or short-term incentive plans, which could generate additional earnings in accordance with the terms of each plan. Qualifying associates can enroll themselves and/or their eligible dependents in medical and prescription drug coverage; can participate in the H&R Block Retirement Savings Plan (401(k) Plan), the Employee Assistance Program, (virtual) fitness center programs, and the associate discount program; are automatically enrolled in Business Travel Accident Insurance; and receive Associate Tax Prep benefit. Pay Range: $18.00 - $20.00/Hr.
